Welcome to the D13 Vessel Examiner Resource Page
This page is to be used as a focal point for District 13 vessel examiners by providing updates to the VE program, including changes specific to the district, and as an access point for resources in support of the VE program.

The 2012 Vessel Safety Check decal is now available for ordering from the ANSC. DIR-VE has established quotas for each flotilla based on the number of VSC checks completed between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011. If you have not yet received your allotment of decals from the ANSC, please have your FSO/SO-MA order them for you. More information on this program may be obtained on the DC-V webpage.

The 2012 Paddle Smart VSC decal was developed by District 13, in partnership with District 1, specifically for paddle craft vessel safety checks. The decal will be issued to owners of paddle craft upon successful completion of the VSC using Form 7012a, Paddle Craft Vessel Safety Check (VSC). A memorandum outlining the program is available in the “Resources” at the bottom of this page. Please contact your FSO/SO-VE if you have not yet received an allotment of these decals.
The Paddle Smart Identification Sticker is similar to the Paddle Smart VSC decal and is used for identification purposes only. The stickers are distributed by vessel examiners and program visitors to promote identification of unregistered paddle craft. In addition, a number of businesses and groups in the district have volunteered to distribute the stickers. A policy on the acquisition and use of these stickers is being developed by the District. In the meantime, Vessel Examiners can request these stickers through their FSO/SO/ADSO-VEs.
